This Week’s Events: Lit. Review Workshop; “On the Market” Continues!

Fall semester is in full swing, and this week, we’ve got a few events lined up to help keep your momentum going strong!

Take Your Lit. Reviews to the Next Level!

On Wednesday, September 14th from 12pm-2pm in EDC 117(Education Lecture Hall). Drs. Jeanne Powers, Erin Rotheram-Fuller, Michelle Jordan, Kate Anderson, and Katie Bernstein, along with Doctoral Candidate Amanda Potterton will discuss their processes for planning, organizing, reading and writing for an Academic Literature Review. After our speakers share their process, they will lead workshop sessions on A) Preparing for the Literature Review; B) Reading for the Literature Review; and C) Writing the Literature Review. Please, see the attached flyer for information on what to bring to each workshop breakout session. A light lunch will be served during the event.

Please, feel free to email us with any questions that you have about the literature review process, and we will share these questions with our speakers.

“On the Market” with David Carlson

Join ASU’s Chapter of Alph Upsilon Alpha, the Honor Society of the International Literacy Association as they continue their “On the Market” career preparation series this Thursday!


This week, guest presenter Dr. David Carlson will share his experiences on the job markey and hiring committees, and lead a writing workshop for CV’s and cover letters.

To make the most of this event, please print or bring electronic copies of your current CV, a draft of your cover letter, and any job announcements you have found.

Pizza will be provided with GPSA’s generous support.
