Got Research Questions? You’ve Got Company!

Introducing: ReCESS (Research Community for Educational Scholarship and Support)

Update: Google Hangout link is here in case anyone can’t make it in person: ReCESS Hangout
TCDC invites any and all interested graduate students at MLFTC to a lunchtime meet-up to share work and exchange ideas. Whatever stage your research is at, if you are looking for some sympathetic ears to give you thoughtful feedback, ReCESS is your place. If you are looking for good company to have lunch with and also like the idea of listening to—and commenting on—the work of your peers, ReCESS is for you.

Our first meet-up will be next Thursday, September 22, from 12:00pm-1:15pm, in Farmer 302 (“the Grad Space”) with lunch provided (but you can bring your own if you like!). ReCESS will meet 3-4 times each semester, typically on the third Thursday of each month. At this first meeting, we’ll have everyone overview their own research interests and current projects, as well as schedule anyone interested in more extensive presentation / workshop sessions at future meet-ups.

At each meeting we welcome graduate students in all concentrations at MLFTC to present on their research. We provide good nutritious food and excellent company. We welcome presentations at any stage of the research process. Presentations can be works in progress, research designs in flux, a qualifying paper gone haywire, problems in data analysis, or polished conference or job presentations.

To RSVP, fill out this Google Form by next Tuesday, August 20th, and let us know if you’ve got any food restrictions:

Download a flyer for the event here.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!
